Stop Tapping. Start Speaking.
Repete is an automated “hands-free” audio player designed specifically for language learners.
Standard music players force you to constantly hit “Pause” and “Play” with your fingers, breaking your concentration. Repete eliminates this friction by virtually segmenting your audio, allowing you to focus 100% on the language.
Mastering the “Interval” Setting
The Interval is the heart of Repete—it is the pause automatically inserted between phrases. This allows you to practice “Listen & Repeat” or “Shadowing” without ever touching your device.
The Natural Flow of “Ratio”
To get the most out of your session, we recommend using the Ratio setting. This makes the pause length adapt to the length of each phrase.
- Smart Rhythm: A short “Hello” gets a short interval, while a long sentence gets a longer one—automatically.
- No Wasted Time: You no longer have to wait through a long, fixed silence for a quick 1-second word.
- The Recommendation: Set it to 1.0x Ratio. This gives you exactly the same amount of time to repeat as the phrase you just heard.
Note: You can also set a Fixed interval in seconds if you prefer a constant wait time.
How to Import Your Audio
Repete works with audio files stored directly on your device to ensure high-precision analysis and zero-latency playback.
Option A: The “App Folder” (Modern & Recommended)
This is the easiest way to manage your language materials separately from your music library.
- Prepare: Save your audio files to your iPhone’s Files app or cloud services (iCloud, Dropbox, Google Drive).
- Import: Tap “Pick” > “App Folder” tab > “…” (More button) > “Import Files.”
Option B: The “Media Library” (Classic Sync)
If you prefer to sync your audio via a computer (iTunes/Finder), use this route.
- Sync: Connect to your PC/Mac and sync your audio as usual.
- Select: Tap “Pick” and find your files in the Songs, Albums, or Artists tabs.
Important: DRM-protected files (such as Apple Music downloads) cannot be analyzed.
Focus on the language, not the buttons. Repete follows your pace.

こんにちは、 I’m trying to use your app to study Japanese. I have my files in a folder on my iPhone in MP3 format. When I try to add the files the app only goes to Apple music files. Is there a way to browse to a file?
Hi Beth,
Thank you for trying Repete — I’m really glad to hear you’re using it to study Japanese!
Yes, you can add MP3 files stored on your iPhone into the app.
To do so, please go to the “Song Selection” screen in the app, then:
App Folder tab → tap the button with three dots (⋯) → choose “Import Files”
This will open the iOS Document Picker.
At the bottom of the Document Picker, you’ll see three tabs: “Recent”, “Shared”, and “Browse”
Please select “Browse”
In the “Browse” view, tap the button with three dots (⋯) in the upper right corner, then select “Edit”
There, you can enable different storage locations such as “iCloud Drive”, “Drive”, or “On My iPhone”
Make sure “On My iPhone” is turned on — this will allow you to browse and select MP3 files that are stored locally on your device.
Once it’s enabled, you should be able to navigate through folders on your iPhone and import the audio files into Repete.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any trouble — I’ll be happy to assist further.
Best regards,
Mitsuru
